I started this business to fill a void I noticed in the salon community when I myself went natural over a decade ago. I was a busy college student at the time, and I had no idea what I was doing. There were no stylists at the time that I knew of in Minnesota who knew about natural hair. As a result, I made a lot of avoidable mistakes.

After about two years of trial and error, attempting to follow the recommendations of some of the Natural Hair YouTube content creators I was following, nothing was really working.  I decided to take a scientific approach to my hair care. That's when everything changed!

I focused on the facts related to the science of hair that are true for everyone, and little by little, I tested methods, products, and regimens to see what was best for me.  I quickly had friends and family members see my progress and want to know how I'd gotten those results.  I had been doing hair as a side hustle for a while, so my client list started to get longer and more consistent. So did their hair!

Spirals Kinks N Coils a Healthy Natural Hair care Salon is my way of helping others avoid what I went through. I wanted to create a space where hair care education, growth, and length retention were the focus.
